Center for Social Media Intern

Marist University School of Communication and the Arts

As a Center for Social Media Intern for the School of Communication and the Arts at Marist University, I created organic social media content covering campus events, student organizations, and creative initiatives across the SCA community, while also creating social media research projects.

Club Spotlight Series

Overview: The School of Communication and the Arts Instagram page had the opportunity to serve as more than a promotional platform—it could also function as a central hub connecting students to the organizations, opportunities, and communities within the SCA network.

Objective: Increase visibility and engagement for student organizations while strengthening the School of Communication and the Arts Instagram page as a connector for campus involvement and creative culture.

Insight: Students are more likely to engage with content that feels peer-driven and conversational, especially when hearing directly from student leaders about their experiences and organizations.

Strategy: Develop a recurring “Club Spotlight” content series featuring casual, interview-style Reels with student organization leaders to create more authentic and community-focused storytelling.

Execution:

  • Conducted outreach and coordinated with club leaders across the School of Communication and the Arts

  • Filmed, edited, and published short-form interview-style Reels highlighting student organizations and campus involvement

  • Structured content to feel approachable, conversational, and socially native rather than overly produced

  • Used the series to strengthen cross-promotion and visibility between the SCA Instagram page and student-led organizations

Event Recaps & Coverage

Created Instagram recap content for School of Communication and the Arts events through Reels, photo coverage, and live Stories, often incorporating student and alumni perspectives to capture the energy and community surrounding campus events.
